She received her Ph.D. degree in Applied Math from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2008 and another Ph.D. degree in Computational Math from Wuhan University (WHU) in 2006. Her research interests are in Computer Graphics and Vision, focusing on Geometric Modeling, Shape Analysis, Point Optimization, Image Processing, 3D/4D Acquisition, and Creation. She is currently an Associate Editor-in-Chief of The Visual Computer (TVC), working on the editorial board of ACM Transactions on Graphics (TOG) and Computers & Graphics (CAG). She is on the SIGGRAPH 2021 Advisory Board, EG SGP Steering Committee, and GRSI International Evaluation Committee. She also served as SMI 2020 Conference Chair, CAD&CG 2020 Program Chair, SGP 2019 Program Chair, GMP 2019 Keynoter, SIGGRAPH ASIA 2017 Technical Briefs and Posters Co-Chair SIGGRAPH ASIA 2016 Workshops Chair, and SIGGRAPH ASIA 2014 Community Liaison Chair. She is the recipient of the 2020 National Technology Innovation Award, 2019 Guangdong Distinguished Talent Award, 2018 Royal Society Newton Advanced Fellowship, 2015 NSFC Excellent Young Scientist Grant, 2015 Guangdong Technological Innovation Leading Talent Award, 2015 CAS Youth Innovation Promotion Association Excellent Member Award, 2014 Guangdong Outstanding Graduate Advisor Award, 2013 CAS International Cooperation Award for Young Scientists, 2012 CAS Lujiaxi Young Talent Award, and 2011 Shenzhen Peacock Talent Award.
