This section provides a brief overview of the peer review process of the Journal of Integration Technology.
1. Peer Review Criteria
Manuscripts are evaluated according to the following criteria:
lSignificance and originality of the research;
lNovelty of the methodology;
lValidity of the data;
lConclusions that are reasonable and well supported by valid data;
lThe manuscript is written clearly and in accordance with the guidelines for authors;
lThe manuscript complies with the journal’s ethics and policy.
2. Peer Review Mode
Journal of Integration Technology adopts double-blind peer review, which means the identities of external peer reviewers and authors are confidential.
Usually, each manuscript is reviewed by at least two reviewers. However, the editorial office may decide to invite additional reviewers in cases where there are large discrepancies in the review comments for a particular manuscript. Peer reviewers are selected based on their expertise and ability to provide high quality, constructive, fair, and timely reviews.
The content of a manuscript under peer review should not be revealed to anyone other than the peer reviewers and editorial staff. Peer reviewers are required to maintain confidentiality in relation to the manuscripts they review and must not divulge any information about a specific manuscript or its content to any third party without prior permission from the journal’s editors.
3. Peer Review Process
(1) Science Editors pass submitted manuscripts to the Editor-in-Chief.
(2) Depending on the topic of the submitted manuscript, the Editor-in-Chief passes the manuscript to an Editorial Board Member with related expertise/experience.
(3) The assigned Editorial Board Member recommends qualified external peer reviewers and the Editorial Office invite them.
(4) External peer experts review the manuscript and give suggestions.
(5) The suggestions are sent to the Editor-in-Chief.
(6) The Editor-in-Chief makes a decision on the manuscript, for which there are four options: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject.
Generally, all original research articles and review articles submitted to Journal of Integration Technology will undergo the standard peer review process as outlined above.
To ensure impartial decision-making and to avoid any potential conflicts of interest, authors with a position in the journal’s editorial team will be excluded from any editorial handling of their manuscripts (including reviewing, editing, and final decision-making). Manuscripts from Editor-in-Chief will be assigned to an Associate Editor-in-Chief or, in cases where the Associate Editor-in-Chief is not available, to an Editorial Board Member with related expertise. Associate Editor-in-Chief or assigned Editorial Board Member will make a final decision based on external peer review comments.
4. Submission Turnaround Time
· In-house review: 1-2 weeks
· External peer review: 1 month
· Publication ahead of print: within 1 month after being accepted
· Formal publication: within 1.5–3 months after being accepted.
All the reviewers will be acknowledged online and in print at the end of the year, for their significant contribution to peer review.
